The times when they are little. Savor them wanting to dress up. Changing their minds. Little spidermans and baseball players and pretty princesses. Glitter on the cheeks and running through the crisp leaves. Savor the warm smiles and giggles and grins and sticky hand-holding. Savor and hold precious in your heart the memories of your children. Hold fast to them and cherish these times.
Okay so I couldn't NOT take a picture of all of her effort....she colors on everything. No writing implement is lazy in her able hands. I was on the phone for about five minutes when this happened..luckily it was washable marker. The chairs and table (and carpet and toys and walls) are all a beautiful and brilliant hot pink....*sigh* I've been meaning to paint that table and the chairs anyway. (she did do a pretty good job "applying" the marker to her eyes though - didn't she?)
I know I just posted pictures from our pretty Fall day but just had to share these too. She's just so darn photogenic! How lucky am I? I have so many funny expressions of her I need to do a collage of the "funny faces of Chuga." (Chuga = Baby talk for Sugar if you're new here)
Oh for the love of hubby and chuga. We had a beautiful Fall day yesterday here and spent the majority of the time outside...at soccer...running to the grocery store for bread to make yummy warm turkey sandwiches (do you have any idea how fast a family of 5 goes through a loaf of bread?)...working in the front yard and then ending the day at church. I couldn't resist the beautiful Fall light; it graces us gently and beautifully. My heart was full yesterday.

Peek a boo from the fort is grand....as is my new website. It's now live! And you can see it! And it's fun and fab! (just a little link love there...) Photography and kids and children and families, oh my! I can't wait!
Benjamin's first day of 5 year old PreK started today as did Gillian's first day of MDO (Mother's Day Out for those not in the know). So in other words, Mommy's first day of freedom!!! And what did I do? Schedule myself a dental appointment. Fun. Now my teeth are sparkling white and clean and the kids are tired and happy. Good day.
It's been awhile since I've done a Chuga update....Here she is at 2 1/2 and sassy as ever.
1. Promoted herself out of her crib - now a "big girl" and sleeping on the crib mattress on the floor (until she quits rolling out of bed and until we can get a new twin mattress)
2. Loves, loves, loves dolls. She carries her babies around everywhere and it's funny how tender and rough she can be at the same time.
3. Reminds me of Benjamin a bit when she wakes up and immediately wants to eat. I have never been like this - takes me a few hours to feel hungry. She wants "ceweuh" now. And juice.
4. Some of her words:
"Tinkle, tinkle a lilla toe" (Twinkle, Twinkle little Star)
"Patoos" (Pretzels)
"iahknow" (I don't know. She says this in the funniest way.)
The way at the end of the "ABC" song when it's "Y and Z" and she says "Wahy aaaahhhh Zeeee!" So cute.
She's just our Miss Sweet.
This is something I picked up at another blog somewhere in cyber-space but sorry, can't remember to give you/it credit. Isn't it a cute idea for kids? And for when you don't have a big meal planned? And for when you need to clean out the pantry? The kids thought it was super fun. It took a bit more time that I had imagined (I had to cube the cheese) but I think it only felt like a long time because I wanted it to be a surprise and the kids and Russell were dangerously close to running in the kitchen and seeing my little muffin tin of goodies.
